Test Manager

General Purpose of Position:
• Perform a testing oversight and coordinator role on multiple projects.
• Facilitate testing kickoff meetings including User Acceptance Testing meeting.
• Oversee the various Business Units in the creation of project test plans and test scripts.
• Review Test Cases and their traceability back to requirements
• Ensure the appropriate test environments and data requirements are outlined, agreed upon and understood.
• Ensure defects are effectively recorded, communicated and understood.
• Ensure changes that are made in sustain are incorporated back into that applications testing documentation.
• Ensure re-use of existing testing documentation for new projects/releases.
• Mentor and provide guidance to test leads and testers.
• Analyze and ensure test results and changes/defect are reflected in the test case and test cases are updated appropriately based on resolution.
• Perform System and UAT test defect triage, follow through on defects, issues, risks, etc and escalate
• Ensure testing is in line with the schedule and escalate if deviation are foreseen or occur.
• Identify, create, and review test metrics.
• Identify and recommend process improvements as necessary.
• Develops and implements plans to promote testing principles, programs, tools and techniques to be used in TCOE.

Time Spent: Major Duties and Responsibilities:
20% • Work with the vendor to set the expectations and direction from a strategically and planning perspective. Bridge the communication between vendor and business for all testing related activities.
20% • Become the subject matter expert for multiple business areas from a testing perspective.
20% • Review Test Strategies, Test Plans, and Test Cases for accuracy, requirement coverage and covers all scenario types. (i.e. positive, negative testing, boundary)
10% • Ensure SDP standards, tools and best practices are implemented within the project engagement to the extent agree with the vendor.
10% • Verify requirement traceability from System Requirements through test cases.
10% • Ensures compliance and quality to all above stated activities. Provides continuity and business context for development vendor across SDP phases from a testing perspective.
10% • Ensure that testing activities will allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.

Requires Knowledge, Skills and Abilities of (include required education, years of experience, and any required professional certifications):
• Interpersonal skills, to facilitate test planning workshops
• Organizational skills to manage a wide array of testing information
• Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software testing solutions.
• Strong knowledge of system testing and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
• Application/business domain knowledge is desirable. This may be readily available with the resource or would need to be developed.
• Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures
• Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
• Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
• Detail-oriented individual who can be relied on to produce accurate deliverables
• Self-motivated, independent worker
• Equivalency of a bachelor’s degree in a related field (information systems, computer science, business)
• Minimum of 5-7 years direct experience as a test manager for major application integration and/or major application product release


Technology: Knowledge of CaliberRM and Mercury Quality Center/Test Director is a plus
